A Capitol Fourth Concert will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Friday with a live broadcast from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol and fireworks from Mount Vernon.
The concert starts at 8 p.m. EDT on Friday, July 3. Watch live from PBS in our video player above.
The concert promises a blend of pop, country, R&B, classical and Broadway tunes, performed by the National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Jack Everly.
The U.S. Capitol Police announced Friday that the gates would not open for the public to attend the concert until 7 p.m., due to extreme heat. The National Weather Service forecast highs in the low 100s for later this afternoon.
